The Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala and Pacesetter Awards banquet will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Nevada Eagles Lodge.

The Chamber Gala, a fundraising event, is for members and non-members to enjoy networking and provides an opportunity to recognize local businesses and individuals for their commitment to excellence and service. The evening is slated to begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Dinner will feature Bourbon Street Chicken served with seasoned roasted red potatoes, creole corn, red beans and rice, Cajun pasta salad and corn bread mini muffins catered by Count On Us Catering. Recognition and announcement of the 2014 Pacesetter Nominees will be presented during the awards ceremony following dinner. A drawing for a Hermann Hill Vineyard & Inn package will be held during the evening as well as several other games.

This year's event will feature Kansas City based jazz band, Grand Marquis. It was voted the 2011 International Blues Challenge Finalists (The Blues Foundation) and Best Blues Band -- The Pitch (Kansas City, Mo.). The Grand Marquis have that classic, timeless "straight-from-the-Kansas City-speakeasy" sound while injecting a vibrant relevance into their brand of hot swinging jazz and jumping blues.

Event tickets are $35 for an individual and $65 for a couple. The attire is dress to impress or come casual -- it's up to you! Reservations are due no later than Wednesday, March 4, and can be reserved by calling the chamber office.
