Tiger golf team edged at Carthage
After a sizzling start to the season, the Nevada Tigers golf team dropped a match Thursday, losing by a single stroke at the Carthage Municipal Golf Course.
Playing the back-nine, par 36, Carthage finished the day with an overall team score of 171, while Nevada scored a 172.
"Not a good showing for the Tiger golfers," Nevada golf coach Brian Leonard said. "Several struggled with the 30-40 mph winds sweeping through the course.
"Hopefully this will be the 'bad' round for most of the boys, so we can continue to put up some good scores in the future."
