Nevada girls win Mt. Vernon track meet
Mt. Vernon ---- The Nevada Tigers girls track and field team finished in first place at Friday's 10-school track and field meet in Mt. Vernon.
In addition to Nevada and Mt. Vernon, other schools competing, were: Stratford, Crane, Clever, Aurora, Seneca, Monett, Reeds Spring, and Verona.
The Nevada girls finished with 109 points, while Aurora claimed second with 86 points. On the boys side, NHS finished in third-place with 63 points.
According to NHS assistant track coach Marsha Hooper, this was the first track event hosted by Mt. Vernon since 1987.
