Bronaugh's Rider qualifies for state

Bronaugh had several members of its track team place in the Northeast Invitational at Arma, Kan., and then got strong efforts from Katey Rider and Amanda Raper in the Class 1 District 6 meet.

At the invitational, Katey Rider raced to a third place in the 100 meters. She also placed third in the triple jump and grabbed first in the 300-meter hurdles.

The Wildcats' 4-by-100 meter weight relay (relay only for athletes who have participated in field events) captured fifth place with a team of Parker Norman, Max Ellis, Austin Gray, and Joseph Terry.

Amanda Raper placed fifth in the shot put.

In the district, Rider took second in the triple jump at 31-04, which qualified her for the sectional meet. She also put up a third place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.74, also qualifying for sectionals. And, capping her day off, she then placed fourth in the 100 meters in 13.70, earning her third event for the sectional.

She landed one more place, with a seventh in the 200 meter.

Amanda Raper finished sixth in the shot put with a toss of 28-9 ½.
