Tigers compete at conference tennis tournament

Three Nevada Tigers tennis players earned All-West Central Conference honors at the conference tournament in Warrensburg, May 8.
Jordan Sheehy and Skyler Laning were named to the All-Conference team, while Brodrick Mason garnered honorable mention recognition.
The Tigers finished the regular season over .500, at 9-7-1.
Singles play
* In No. 1 Singles, fourth-seeded Laning faced fifth-seed Braeden Westhusing of Clinton. Laning cruised to an 8-1 victory.
Laning then lost 8-0 in the second round to top-seeded Owen Shields of St. Pius X.
* In No. 2 singles, Sheehy received the fourth-seed and matched up with fifth-seeded Jacob Hedrick of Sedalia Smith-Cotton. Sheehy bounced Hendrick 8-1.
Sheehy fell in the second round to top-seeded Jackson Scurlock of Warrensburg, 8-0.
* At No. 3 for Nevada, sophomore Nathan McCall received the fourth-seed, defeating fifth-seeded Logan Hurt of Clinton, 8-6.
* McCall was beat in the second round 8-0 by top seed Michael Lichte of Warrensburg.
* At No. 4 singles for Nevada, third-seeded Brodrick Mason bested sixth-seeded Nick Darling of Kansas City O'Hara, 8-1.
After advancing, Mason fell in the second round to second-seeded Luke Ross of St. Pius X, 8-1.
* In No. 5 singles for Nevada, third-seeded Thadius Mason dispatched sixth-seeded Jacob Carver of Smith-Cotton, 8-2.
Mason was defeated in the second round 8-2 by second-seeded Noah Essig of St. Pius X.
* In No. 6 singles, Nevada freshman Jace Lanham as a sixth-seed lost in the first round to third-seeded Brenden Hay of St. Pius X, 8-2.
Doubles matches
* In No. 1 doubles, Laning and Sheehy received the third-seed, prevailing against the sixth-seeded Clinton team of Westhusing and Spencer Journey, 8-6.
After advancing, Laning and Sheehy were toppled by Warrensburg's second-seeded team of Chris O'Conner and Max Manley, 8-4.
* At No. 2 doubles for Nevada, Mason and Mason dropped Smith-Cotton's third-seeded team, Carter Lapine and Blake Potts, 8-3.
Mason and Mason were then edged by St. Pius X's second-seeded team, Sean Waters and Thomas Givens, 8-6.
* In No. 3 doubles, Nevada's duo of McCall and Lanham, seeded third, topped O'Hara's sixth-seeded team, Darling and Tristan DeGonia, 8-5.
McCall and Lanham then lost in the second round 8-3 to Robert Piper and Jacob Rice, Warrensburg's second-seeded team.
