The Nevada Middle School track and field team closed out its season May 7 at the Tri-County Track Meet in Carl Junction.

First-place finishers for Nevada were: Seventh-graders Callie Beshore, Morgan Smith, Collin Witte, and Colby O'Connell.

NMS seventh-grade girls, fourth-place out of eight teams

* Callie Beshore, first-place in the 800 meter run, 2:40.0 (new school record); first place in the 1600 meter run, 5:42.8

* Morgan Smith, first-place in pole vault; 7-feet.

* Jordyn Ropelato, third-place in discus, 69-feet; third-place in shot put; 28-feet, 11-inches.

* Teagan Charles, fourth-place in 100 meter dash, 14.71; sixth-place in 200 meter dash, 31.97; seventh-place in long jump; 12-feet, 3-inches.

* Julia Cassidy, fifth-place in high jump; 4-feet.

* Stacey Pennington, fifth-place in triple jump; 26-feet, 9-inches.

* Beshore, Charles, Hailee Lundine, and Madalyn Koenig, sixth-place in 400 meter relay; 1:00.7.

* Koenig, seventh-place in 100 meter dash, 15 seconds.
