Nevada relay team qualifies for state, Manes in 100

The Nevada Tigers boys relay team captured first place in the 4x100 meter relay at Saturday's Class 4 District 3 sectional meet in Eldon.

The time of 43.51 seconds in the 4x100 event, set a new Nevada school record. Team members are seniors Taylor Manes, Michael Brown, Ryan Ferris, and junior Chaden Brandt. The boys team also qualified in the 4x200 meter relay, finishing in third-place with a time of 1:30.98.

In addition, Manes qualified for state in the 100 meter dash, finishing in second-place with a time of 11.30.

The Missouri track and field state championships are slated for Friday and Saturday at Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Event times are not yet available.

NHS girls results

Nevada junior Carsten Warner finished in fifth-place in the long jump Saturday at Eldon, with a jump of 15-feet, 9 3/4 inches.

The NHS girls relay team finished in fifth-place in the 4x100 with a time of 51.84. The team, comprised of juniors Warner, Jansen Miller, Mindy Hendren, and Reagan Bradley took sixth-place in the 4x200 with a PR time of 1:51.09. Nevada senior Brooklynn Vincent took seventh-place in the shot put, at 35-feet, 11-inches, and eighth-place in the discus with a throw of 87-feet, 6-inches.
