Bushwhacker Committee restructuring
Nevada Daily Mail
The Bushwhacker Days Committee will be undergoing some changes over the next several months in preparation for the 2016 event. After the conclusion of the 2015 event June 10-13, current co-chairs Frank and Pat Arnold decided to step down after 11 years of volunteer service.
Current committee members will be holding a meeting in the next month to consider the following aspects of the event -- electing a new chairperson(s), and possible location and/or date change.
"The Bushwhacker Days Committee is represented by a group of volunteers seeking to preserve our community's heritage and history. This annual event has been celebrated for 51 years and would not be possible without the support of the businesses and individuals in our community," noted the Nevada Vernon County Chamber of Commerce.
"At this time, the committee members are not anticipating the complete cancellation of the event as some rumors might have suggested. While some changes will take place, the committee will keep the public informed through printed press releases and updates to the website as needed."
Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce will continue to update changes as well on its website, www.nevada-mo.com and Facebook -- Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce page.
