A suspect wearing a blue-leotard-suit forced entry into a business in the 2000 block of East Austin, Sunday, Aug. 23, some time between 10:30 p.m. and 9:17 a.m. the next day.
Officers with the Nevada Police Department responded when an employee went to open the store for business and found that someone had forced entry into the building.
During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect failed at the attempt to take anything from the business. However, significant property damage was noted by management.
According to the police report, after forcing entry through the drive thru window, the suspect was able to make entry inside the business. The suspect made multiple attempts to open the safe by using what appeared to be the keypad located on the front of the safe door. After multiple failed efforts, the suspect attempted to use force by kicking the safe door handle in an attempt to make entry inside the safe.
After more multiple failed attempts to enter the safe, the suspect left the business through the same point of entry.
Investigators reviewed the video from the store's surveillance system. It shows what appears to be an unknown person approaching the store from the rear in total darkness. The suspect was wearing what appeared to be a leotard suit covering his entire body, including the suspect's face. The suspect was also noted to be wearing what investigators believe to be a set of western boots.
Police believe the suspect parked his vehicle at another business and walked to the store.
