Small Steps to Health and Wealth

University of Missouri Extension of Vernon County will be offering Small Steps to Health and Wealth. The Small Steps to Health and Wealth program motivates participants to improve both their health and their finances.

Participants are encouraged to set a health goal and/or wealth goal, and then take action to achieve their goals by identifying small progress steps. Participants discuss 20 similarities between health and personal finance issues and learn 10 suggested behavior change strategies that can be applied to either area of life. The impact of health on finances and finances on health is also explored.

The program will be taught by University of Missouri Extension nutrition specialists and family financial education specialists. The program will be consist of four, two-hour sessions. The program is free to the public and a workbook will be provided at the second session.

The dates for the session are as follows:

Saturday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m. -- noon.

Saturday, Dec. 5, 10 a.m. -- noon.

Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 10 a.m. -- noon.

Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016 10 a.m. -- noon.

The program is at the Crowder College Nevada campus, second floor, located at 600 West Edwards Place. To register, call the University of Missouri Extension Center of Vernon County at (417) 448-2560. Please register by Nov. 10.
