American Legion begins annual toy drive
The members of the American Legion Post No. 2 in Nevada are beginning their annual toy drive for children at Christmas.
"This has been an annual event for our post for the past 95 years," noted a press release from the Legion.
"Last year, we had 110 children in attendance. We sponsor a Christmas diner as well and we had 55 at the post and 70 home deliveries to home-bound individuals. We also sponsor a Thanksgiving dinner, in which we had 52 at the post and 60 home deliveries.
"The American Legion Post No. 2 in Nevada is people helping people. If you know of someone who has fallen on hard times this holiday season, please have them join us."
Call to RSVP to receive a meal at 417-667-9836.
"Thank you for the past donations you have given in the previous years. A donation this year would be much appreciated to help children in our community. We hope that you will join us this year in putting smiles on children's faces on Christmas morning."
A tax-deductible donation can be mailed to American Legion, Leon Ogier Post No. 2, Nevada, Mo., 64772.
"Please remember all veterans throughout the year."
