Sen. Emery recovering from surgery

State Sen. Ed Emery is expected to return home later this week after undergoing surgery Oct. 16.

According to an email blast from Rose Granich, executive secretary to the senator, "After a successful mitral valve replacement surgery, Sen. Emery is recovering nicely and looks forward to continuing his recovery at home later this week."

"The Emery family wants to thank everyone who sent cards and prayed for the senator. Those prayers are helping, as he seems anxious to get back to work.
