Tiger middle school teams sweep Fort Scott
A 39-12 defeat of Fort Scott Middle School improved the Nevada Tigers seventh-grade basketball team to 4-0 overall.
"Tonight, we came out strong," Nevada seventh-grade head coach Robert Miner said. "We ran our full-court press and were able to execute our offensive game-plan from the very beginning."
The Tuesday night contest at Franklin P. Norman Community Center, opened with Fort Scott's Luke Bradbury coming up with a steal and lay-up.
Nevada guard Lane McNeley tied the game with an offensive rebound and put-back, followed by a Ben Hines score from the low-post to put Nevada on top 4-2.

Hines scored the final points of the quarter, capping a 16-0 run.
Early in the fourth quarter, Pytlowany knocked down a trey and later converted a lay-up, but it was too little to late for Fort Scott.
"The boys played very well as a team tonight," Miner said. "I am very proud of how the boys played unselfishly and really worked hard as a team."
