Mosher announces run for re-election

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher announced Tuesday morning that he has filed for re-election for the office of Sheriff. Mosher said he has enjoyed working for the citizens of Vernon County and hopes to continue serving them.
The sheriff said some of his goals for his first term was to add 24-hour patrolling, improve and update the look of the Sheriff's Office vehicles and uniforms, improve training, and add a surveillance system and full-time bailiff to the courthouse.
The sheriff said those goals have been achieved, but that there is still a lot to do and much more can still be improved. "The day you think there is nothing else that can be improved is the day you should quit," said Mosher.
The sheriff said his office has broken the record for Sheriff's Office revenue the last two years in a row with both years bringing in more than $1 million. Mosher also said he started a text-notification system and uses that in addition to press releases to help communicate safety notices to residents and to let them know what's going on at the Sheriff's Office.
"We have a lot of plans for the future and I am excited to continue the work we have started here."
