NHS JV, freshman teams in action

The Nevada High School freshman boys basketball team was edged Thursday night by Kansas Center 52-49 at Wynn Gym. For Nevada, forward Matt Thompson tied for a game-high with 17 points, while Kayden Ast contributed 11.

The Nevada boys junior varsity team was defeated by Center 64-35, as Tigers guard Daulton Shepard scored a game-high 16 points.

The Nevada freshman girls prevailed 26-19, as ReAnna McGraw tallied a team-high nine points.

The Nevada junior varsity girls fell 34-28 against Center. Forward Kat Ream chipped in with 15 points, while guard Sammy Gundy finished with 10.
