Tessa Sue Smith

Tessa Sue Smith, 49, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Sunday, March 27, 2016, at her home in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. Tessa was born Dec. 31, 1966, in Nevada, to Robert Lee and Sharon A. (Howell) Knapp. She was united in marriage to Brian E. Smith on June 12, 1987, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Tessa was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1985. Following high school she worked at Dairy Queen in Nevada from 1985 until October of 2014, when she retired due to illness.

In addition to her husband, Brian, survivors include one son, Dalton Smith and his wife, Trista, Nevada; her mother, Sharon Knapp, Nevada; two brothers, Robbie Knapp, Marshall, Minn., and Ryan Knapp, Nevada, Mo.; three sisters, Janie Clark, Colorado Springs, Colo., Sharon Nichols, Monett, Mo., and Vickie Scism, Nevada, Mo.; one aunt, Bobby Dade and her husband, Garry, Nevada; and she was "Grannie" to two wonderful granddaughters, Savannah and Tayla. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Knapp.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 31.
