Ms. Janet Atkinson Jordan

Ms. Janet Atkinson Jordan, 69, of Greenville, N.C., passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Ms. Jordan was born and raised in Nevada and was a 1964 graduate of Nevada High School. She graduated with her master's in speech pathology. She worked as a speech pathologist for 40 years, and spent most of her years of service with Pitt County Schools in Greenville. Ms. Jordan loved working with children and found great joy in her work. She touched the lives of so many. She loved people and was always thinking and doing for others. She enjoyed attending Covenant Church and listening to Charles Stanley. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Addison.

Ms. Jordan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Loretta Atkinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Meghan Beach and husband, Nick, of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Anderson Carder Frutiger and wife, Meranda, of Grimesland, N.C.; granddaughter, Addison Frutiger; sister, Vicki Wright and husband, Ed, of Chicago, Ill.; brothers, Brian Atkinson and wife, Kristin, and Brent Atkinson and wife, Lori, all of Kansas City, Mo.; and several special nieces and nephews, Andrew Wright, Chicago, Ill., Rachael Wright, Chicago, Ill., Lauren Atkinson St. John, Olathe, Kan., Liam Atkinson, Kansas City, Mo., Stephanie Atkinson, Kansas City, Mo., and Samantha Atkinson, Kansas City, Mo.

A committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 9, at the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, Mo., with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating.
