Lois Maxine Oslin
Lois Maxine Oslin, 80, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, in Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. Lois was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Montevallo, Mo., to James William and Ruth Ethel (Bright) Faith. She was united in marriage to Jerry Oslin in 1966 and he preceded her in death in 1981.
Lois was raised in Montevallo and attended El Dorado Springs High School graduating with the Class of 1953. Following high school Lois moved to Bartlesville, Okla., and worked in the oil business for a number of years at City Service Oil Company, she then moved to Kansas City where she was employed by Skelly Oil. She later worked for a time for the Frisco Railroad and then also at Federal-Express for eight years until her retirement in 1998 when she came to Nevada. Lois loved growing flowers. One of her favorite memories was the blossoming flowers and trees in the spring. She also loved traveling, shopping and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include her long-time companion, Tom Holcomb, of the home; two sons, Jimmy Oslin, Phoenix, Ariz., and Jason Oslin, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, James A. "Bus" Faith and his wife Carol, Nevada, and Robert V. Faith, and his wife, Greta, Tulsa, Okla.; nieces and nephews, Janet Guthrie, Nevada, Jim Faith, Wichita, Nancy Faith Doutey, Tulsa, Vicki Faith, Charleston, S.C., and Bob Faith, Charleston, S.C.; and several great-nieces and -nephews. She is also survived by her many friends including her walking group, "The Senior Crawl," at the Nevada Community Center. In addition to her husband, Jerry, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
