Shirley Jean Meyer
Shirley Jean Meyer, 80, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, April 17, 2016. She was born June 11, 1935, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Willie Keith and Gladys Swisher. Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Athena club, the P.E.O. Club and an active member of the Bridge House. She very much enjoyed the arts, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Loving survivors include her husband of 56 years, Darrell Meyer, of Hot Springs; sons, Kirk Meyer and wife, Kristy, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jay Meyer, of Alamosa, Colo.; daughter, Laura Meyer Clark, of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren, Cassidy Sullivan, Colton and Connor Clark, Jordan and Sara Meyer, Logan, Devon, Megan and Ethan Meyer; one great-grandson, Larry Karnes IV; sisters, Ann Ford, of San Antonio, Texas, Virginia Allgaier, of Kansas City, Mo., and Sue Mayer, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.
A Life Celebration for Shirley will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at First United Methodist Church, Hot Springs, Ark., with the Revs. Michael Mattox and David Wilson officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
