Lois Nadyne Johnston
Nadyne was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Willard and Sylvia Latterner. She passed away April 23, 2016, at Hospice House, in Kennewick.
Nadyne grew up a city girl in Fort Scott, Kan. She became a farm wife when she married Pringle "Lad" Johnston on Dec. 7, 1947. In 1973, they retired from the farm and moved to Richland, Wash. She worked as a custodian for the Richland School District, then as a custodian at Battelle until she retired in 1984.
Nadyne loved going fishing and camping. She and Pringle had a motor home and traveled all over the country with friends and family. Usually this included her sister, Helen Ramsey, of Richland. They even joined a square dance group for a few years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lad; her brother, Floyd Latterner; and her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lloyd Ramsey.
Nadyne is survived by her daughters, Linda Rudisill of Richland, and Lois (Dale) Baird of Bronaugh, Mo.; grandchildren, Lisa (Gene) Johnson, Richland, Niki (Aaron) McCreight, Yakima, Leticia (Jeffery) Mahoney, Harmony, N.C., Caleb (Heather) Baird, El Paso, Texas, and Kelli (Eric) Dunfee, Kennewick; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; plus several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Thursday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Events at Sunset, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, at 10 a.m., at Events at Sunset, followed by a graveside service at Sunset Gardens.
