Nevada in third-place after 1st-round of state golf tourney
The Nevada Tigers carded a team-score of 325 in the opening-round of the Class 3 Missouri State Golf Championship Monday at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield. The Tigers trail first-place Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (MICDS), who tallied a team score of 309, and Pembroke High School, who sits at 316. Priory High School is currently in fourth-place at 327; Sullivan HS, fifth-place, 328; Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) High School, sixth-place, 330; Logan-Rogersville High School, seventh-place, 344; and Clayton High School, eighth-place, 367.
Individually for Nevada, Jacob Hammontree is tied for 15th-place after carding a first-round 78; John Quitno, tied for 19th-place, 80; Levi Palmer, tied for 30th-place, 83; Patrick Ferry, tied for 34th-place, 84; and Bronson Smith, tied for 65th-place, 91.
Weather permitting, round two is scheduled for today.
