El Dorado Christian track athletes compete at nationals

El Dorado Springs Christian School recently advanced to the 2016 National Track-and-Field Meet held at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, bringing eight student-athletes to the event, with each competing in a designated age group.

El Dorado Christian results

* Sophia Bryson: First-place in 50-yard dash (9 seconds flat), first-place in 200-meter dash, second-place 100-meter dash and eighth-place in long jump.

* Olivia Bryson: Second-place in high jump, third-place in 800-meter run, third-place in 1600-meter run, and third-place in 2400-meter run.

* Isabelle Bryson: Set new personal record in 100-meter and 200-meter dash.

* Jordanne Steuck: first-place in 800-meter run, and second-place in 1600-meter run.

* Drew Steuck: Second-place in 800-meter run, second-place in javelin, and third-place in steeplechase.

* Aidan Reeves: First-place in shot put, and fourth-place in discus.

* Christian Steuck: Second-place in 80-meter hurdles, second-place in shot put, and fifth-place in long jump.

* Brayden Housh: Fifth-place in triple jump, and seventh-place in high jump.

In addition, Isabelle Bryson, Jordanne Steuck, and Brayden Housh and others, competed at the Inter-School Academics Athletics Conference (ISAAC) track meet earlier that same day in Kansas City, before traveling down Highway 13 to compete in Bolivar. The El Dorado Christian School boys placed second at the ISAAC meet.

ISAAC meet results

* Brayden Housh: Third-place in high jump, second-place in discus, fifth-place in long jump, third-place in triple jump, and first-place in the 1600-meter medley.

* Ryan Owens: Second place in the 100-meter dash, first-place in the 400-meter dash, first-place in 1600-meter medley, first-place in 4x200-meter relay, and first-place in 4x400-meter relay.

* Bryce Walker: First-place in 1600-meter run, first-place in 800-meter run, first-place in 4x200-meter relay, and first-place in 4x400-meter relay.

* Colten Pike: First-place in 1600-meter medley, first-place in 4x200-meter relay, first-place in 4x400-meter relay, second-place in 400-meter dash, and second-place in 200-meter dash.

* Seth McKinney: First-place in 1600-meter medley, first-place in 4x 200-meter medley, first-place in 4x400-meter relay, third-place in 400-meter dash, and fourth-place in high jump.

At the ISAAC meet for the El Dorado Christian School Lady Buffalo's, Chaney Housh went out in style competing in her final track event at the school, winning multiple golds, while helping lead the Lady Buffalo's to a first-place (tie).

In addition, the Lady Buffalo's were awarded the trophy given out for most points scored per athlete.

* Chaney Housh: First-place in high jump, first-place in discus, first-place in the 200-meter run, second-place in shot put, and second-place in the 800-meter medley.

* Mindy Harper: Second-place in the 800-meter medley, second-place in long jump, second-place in triple jump, second-place in 800-meter run, and third-place in 100-meter dash.

* Jordanne Steuck: First-place in the triple jump, second-place in high jump, seocnd-place in 800-meter medley, fourth-place in discus, and fourth-place in 200-meter dash.

* Isabelle Bryson: First-place in 1600-meter run, second-place in 800-meter medley, and third-place in the triple jump.
