"Every election is different and very challenging," said Mike Buehler, county clerk. "When I started my job, I'd sweat every detail. But this morning I was thinking how millions of people envy my headaches and what we all take for granted, free elections."

At press time, with unofficial returns showing a total of 3,675 ballots cast out of 11,092 registered voters in Vernon County, for a 33.13 percent turnout, here are the results:

Vernon County Collector/Treasurer

Republican: Brent Banes 1,169; Rowdy Whittington 594; Patrick Kimmell 440; Heather Gerster-Trytsman 648.

Democratic: Kylie Pritchett 641.

Northern District Commissioner

Democratic: Neal Gerster 272.

Republican: Steve Schlup 529; Cynthia Thompson 598.

Southern District Commissioner

Republican: Everette Wolfe 1,571.

Sheriff

Republican: Jason Mosher 2,714.

Assessor

Democratic: Cherie Kaye Roberts 633.

Public Administrator

Democratic: Tammy Bond 655.

Coroner

David Ferry 665.
