7th-grade Tigers handle Carl Junction
The Nevada Tigers seventh-grade "A" and "B" football teams triumphed over the Carl Junction Bulldogs, Tuesday at Logan Field.
The Tigers topped Carl Junction in the "A" game 16-8, while Nevada prevailed in the "B" contest 8-6. "It was a great team effort and I was real proud of the way the boys played," Tigers head coach Brent Bartlett said.
In the "A" game, Nevada's scoring plays came courtesy of a Kartman Highley 4-yard touchdown scamper and Highley 2-point conversion; a safety, coming on a Devon Austin tackle of a CJ runner in the end zone for a safety; and a Highley 45-yard touchdown strike to Eli Cheaney.
In the "B" game, Austin's 40-yard touchdown run followed by Gage Boyd's score on the 2-point play, proved to be enough.
