NHS tennis reels off seventh straight win

In a rescheduled non-conference road-matchup with Carl Junction, the Nevada Lady Tigers tennis team breezed to an 8-1 victory, improving to 7-0 on the season (4-0 West Central Conference).

At No. 1 singles, Nevada's Emma Cheaney beat Chase Boyd 8-2. Lady Tigers No. 2 Erika Watanabe tripped up Ashley Houser 8-1. Nevada's No. 3 Jaiden Cherry rolled past Lily Pile 8-2. At No. 4 Sydnie Baker of Nevada handed Hannah Hodson an 8-1 defeat. Nevada's No. 5 Courtney Smith did not finish her match, as it ended with her trailing 4-1. And at No. 6 for Nevada, Mikena Padgett edged Sarah O'Hannahan 8-6.

In doubles-play, Nevada's top tandem, Cheaney and Watanabe cruised to an 8-3 win over Boyd and Pile. Nevada's No. 2 doubles team Cherry and Baker bested Houser and Lassiter 8-2, while Smith and Padgett bounced Hodson and O'Hannahan, 8-3.
