Eighth-grade Tigers beat by Webb City
Three kick return touchdowns lifted the Webb City Cardinals eighth-grade football team to a 37-14 victory over the Nevada Tigers (1-3) at Logan Field Thursday night.
NHS head coach Robert Miner said he was pleased with his squad's performance, but that special teams was the clear difference. Nevada's scoring came via two rushing touchdowns, Kaden Denney's 6-yard scamper, followed by a Ty Thomas 19-yard touchdown run.
Special teams play was again a major factor in the "B" game. This time it was Nevada doing damage in the kick game, as Trentin Moore took a kick return 65 yards to the house. NHS teammate Jace Lee followed suit, returning a kick 60 yards to paydirt.
It was Webb City, however, who emerged with the 22-14 victory.
