Neva H. Peak

Neva H. Peak, 71, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Oct. 26, 2016 at Nevada Nursing and Rehab in Nevada. Neva was born Feb. 26, 1945 in Kansas City, Kan. to Herbert and Gladys Patterson. She was united in marriage to Bill A. Peak in Kansas City, Mo. and he survives.

Neva has resided in Nevada since 1985. She was a homemaker who loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Neva enjoyed crafting and making blankets for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Nevada Assembly of God church.

In addition to her husband Bill, Sedalia, Mo., she is survived by four sons, David Patterson, Belton, Mo., Lee Patterson, Emporia, Kan., Greg Barksdale and his wife Rachel, Nevada, Dean Barksdale and his wife Robin, Nevada; one daughter, Rhonda Barksdale, Stockton, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Heather Lambrecht and Rick, Nevada; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home.
