Council appoints NRMC board members
The Nevada City Council took less than 15 minutes Tuesday night to complete the agenda for the business portion of its meeting.
During that time the council voted 5-0 to approve the reappointment of Jenise Burch to a three-year term on the Nevada Regional Medical Center board of directors. This will be Burch's second term on the board, which expires Dec. 31, 2019.
The council also voted 5-0, to appoint Ron Chandler and Wayne Reinert to their first three-year terms on the NRMC board of directors. They replace Mike Denman and Larry Bledsoe, who complete their third terms on the board in December. NRMC board members are limited to serving three consecutive terms.
In other business the council voted 5-0, to pass on first reading a special ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission to replace two electronic traffic calming signs. One sign is on West Ashland Street and the second on North Olive Street. The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission will pay 80 percent of the estimated $15,000 cost, with the Nevada R-5 School District and the city of Nevada paying the rest.
