Lady Tigers crush Neosho
In Monday night junior high basketball action, the Nevada Lady Tigers seventh-grade basketball team drubbed Neosho 41-10 in the opening-round of the Tri-County Tournament in Carl Junction.
The victory improved the second-seeded Lady Tigers to 10-3 on the season.
"We played a complete game tonight," Lady Tigers head coach Danny Penn said. "I was very happy with the effort and execution with which we played. Our three-quarter court trap got us four to five turnovers, most of which we were able to convert into scores."
Penn added that he was pleased with his team's overall offensive performance.
"We did a nice job of finding the open person offensively," he said. "I've been begging the girls to use some ball-fakes, and we used them well to get the defense off-balance and open up passing lanes."
For Nevada, Claire Pritchett finished with a game-high 15 points, while Jerica Collins added 11.
