A 35-16 Tuesday night non-conference road-victory over Appleton City moved the Hume Lady Hornets to 4-0 overall (3-0 Golden Valley Vernon County Conference.)

For Hume, sophomore forward Hannah Gorda finished with a game-high 15, while guards Karlee Metcalf and Malia McFrederick combined for nine points.

"We came flat to start the game," first-year Lady Hornets head coach Heath Heckadon said, "but our defense led us to the win this evening. Proud of the way the girls played defensively. We still have to work on the offensive side of the ball, but we will get there. The girls are playing hard and listening, so we will get better."
