Lewis Wayne Buhr
Lewis Wayne Buhr, 85, Pleasant Hill, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 8, at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Mo., with burial in Balltown Cemetery, Horton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Lewis was born March 23, 1931, in Horton, the son of Karl Frank and Rilla Maude (Robison) Buhr. He married Ethel Mae Wingate on Aug. 15, 1952. He was a Korean War U.S. Marine veteran. Lewis worked for Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell for 37 years and ran a 240 acre farm. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and had many friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Karlene Phillips; and one son, Gene Wise. He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of the home; one daughter, Luanne Buhr, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two sons, Randy Buhr (Mary), Lee's Summit, Mo., and Dean Wise (Joan Henry), Grandview, Mo.; three brothers, Ken Buhr (Sue), Rolla, Mo., Ron Buhr, Butler, Mo., and Forrest Buhr (Chris), Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Joy Hill (Don), Adrian, Mo., and Emma Robbins (Bill), Central Point, Ore.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
