Rhoda C. Harris
Rhoda C. Harris, 80, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Nevada Nursing and Rehab in Nevada. Rhoda was born in Carlsbad, N.M., on Oct. 30, 1936, to Cage Hogan and Estella Anne (Holvoet) Wilkinson. On Sept. 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Gilbert G. Harris in Carlsbad and he survives of the home.
Rhoda was raised in New Mexico. In 1965 she along with her husband Gilbert moved to Branson. Two years later, in 1967, they came to Nevada where she began working at Key Work Clothes. Rhoda also worked for a time at Kellwood Tent Factory, and Nellie Don before retiring in 1980. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada. Rhoda enjoyed her retirement years. She loved spending time in Arizona, traveling, and sightseeing.
In addition to her husband Gilbert survivors include five daughters, Greta Russell and her husband Dennis, El Paso, Texas, Shelly Chadd, Milo, Debbie Anders, Nevada, Donna Wagner and her husband Max, Nevada, Raye Swopes and her husband Clint, Walker; one daughter-in-love, Patricia Harris, Moundville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Wilkinson, Phoenix, Ariz., Robert Wilkinson, Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Alice Stowe, Seattle, Wash., Joyce Roush, Pittsburg, Kan.; numerous nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gilbert C. Harris; and one granddaughter, Lori Woods.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor David Crook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
