Tiger middle school teams split with Neosho

Nevada Middle School's seventh and eighth-grade basketball teams concluded Tuesday evening with mixed results.

In a Tri-County Conference road matchup in Neosho, Nevadas eighth-grade A-team hammered the host's 47-17, pushing its record to 10-0 overall. Nevada was led by its inside-out duo of Logan Applegate and Ben Hines, who combined for 28 points. The Tigers B-team (7-3) was also victorious, edging past Neosho 37-34 for its seventh consecutive victory. For Nevada, Ty Thomas poured in a game-high 25 points.

Nevada's seventh-grade A-team (2-8) was upended by Neosho 38-34. For the Tigers, Eli Cheaney finished with a team-high 19 points. Nevada's B-team (4-5) fell 31-26.
