The Nevada Tigers' varsity, junior varsity and freshman basketball teams were recognized at its postseason awards banquet, held Sunday at Nevada High School. Nevada's team awards were announced, and went to: Clay Gayman, Jr., Co-MVP; Matthew Sommer, Sr., Co-MVP and Patrick Quest Award winner; Myles McNeley, Sr., Defensive Player of the Year; Patrick Ferry, Sr., Co-Brandon Barker Most Improved Player; Hunter Mason, Sr., Co-Brandon Barker Most Improved Player. The Tigers, who reeled off a post-Christmas break 18-game win streak, finished 23-4 overall, before falling to Grandview in the Missouri Class 4 District 12 championship game.
