Janet Marie Elmore-Lauderback

Janet Marie Elmore-Lauderback, 81, formerly of Nevada, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, in Newton, N.C. Born in Nevada, Missouri on June 18, 1935, she was the second daughter of Mary Miles-Elmore and Andrew B. Elmore.

Janet graduated from Nevada High School and went to William Jewel College and received a Bachelor Degree in Music. Upon graduation, she returned to Nevada as the Director of the Ministry of Music, and Pastor’s Assistant at First Baptist Church. In 1960, she married Donald Lauderback of Dedrick. Janet dedicated her life to raising her three children, serving in various capacities in her church and in later years, working as an Administrative Assistant at Cigna Insurance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Geraldine Elmore. She is survived by her children Donald Lauderback, Jr. (Tara), Darcy Lauderback-Dober (Robert) and Tammy Lauderback-Head (David); and six grandchildren, Tanner, Demi, Kaitlan, Carson, Emma, and Ashlyn.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Services will be held in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Nevada.
