Lady Panthers derailed by Rich Hill
In a tough Tuesday night non-conference road matchup , the Sheldon Lady Panthers were beat in two sets by the Rich Hill Lady Tigers. Rich Hill took the first set 25-14, and went on to win the second set 25-17.
This was a tough match for us physically and mentally,” said Lady Panthers first-year head coach, Emily Godsey.
Godsey said she was impressed with the competitiveness of her young squad. “We have grown as a team and we don’t let tough teams intimidate us,” she said. “We just went out there and played volleyball.”
For Sheldon, Madyson Bogart tallied four kills, while Hailey Hibbits and Meckinize MacCartney chipped in an ace apiece.
“We are playing more cohesively as a team. The scoreboard is not showing the growth that our team is experiencing,” said Godsey after last week’s match with Golden City. “I’m very proud of these girls and the hard work they’ve put in to improve their game.”
