Lady Tigers win eighth straight
The Nevada Lady Tiger tennis team rolled to their eighth consecutive victory, defeating Clinton 7-2 in a West Central Conference matchup Thursday at the NHS tennis courts. The victory improves Nevada to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in WCC-play.
Singles: At No. 1 singles, Nevada’s Emma Cheaney rolled past Ashton Cook, 8-0; No. 2, Erika Watanabe (NHS) cruised to an 8-1 win over Ryan Pitts; No. 3 Katherine Pruitt (NHS) doubled up Reese Porter, 8-4; No. 4 Aubrie Wheeler (Clinton) defeated Mikena Padgett, 8-3; No. 5 Hallie Short (NHS) blanked Megan Swaters, 8-0; No. 6 Kaitlyn Hogan (NHS) edged Kiara Parks, 8-6. Doubles: At No. 1 doubles Cheaney and Watanabe (NHS) cruised to an 8-1 victory over Cook/Pitts; No. 2: Pruitt and Hogan fell, 8-3; No. 3 Padgett and Short toppled Swaters/Park, 8-3.
