David Duane Foland
David Duane Foland passed away in Bella Vista, Ark., on Oct. 31. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Jay, Gene and Wayne.
A devoted son, husband and father, Dave is survived by his best friend and wife, Kay, of 56 years, his loving children, daughter Erin Peterson; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Lynne Foland; and our sweetest grandson, Brody.
David was born in Nevada, on Aug. 25, 1938, to Lois Gretelle Rinehart Foland and John Elbert Foland. In 1956, he graduated from Nevada High School. He attended the University of Missouri. He received a degree in installment credit at the University of Oklahoma and in 1974, in banking from the University of Nebraska.
He began his financial career as a manager of Household Finance Corporation office for 13 years, vice president of Thorton Bank, Nevada, executive vice president of Security State Bank, Ft. Scott, and president of Arvest Bank, Gravette, Ark. As a career-banker, he took great pride in advising and helping his customers.
With a zest for life, Dave had boundless energy and an ever-contagious smile. He enjoyed playing golf, farming, riding horses and making his “secret” fudge recipe while watching the Kansas City Chiefs. David was a life-long member of the First Christian Church.
He will always live in the hearts of those he touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and he is loved very much.
Private graveside services will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
David was a man loved by all who knew him. He will be missed every day.
