Arlene Frances Koons
Arlene Frances Koons, 63, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Medicalodges in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Arlene was born March 18, 1954, in Lakeville, Minn., to George and Shirley (Simonds) Nesbett. On July 20, 2002, she was united in marriage to Bill Koons in Eureka Springs, Ark., and they celebrated 15 years together.
Arlene grew up in Lakeville, Minn. She attended St. Catherine’s University and studied Occupational Therapy. Arlene worked at Nevada Habilitation Center, Nevada Regional Medical Center and Key Rehab until her retirement. She was a member of the Occupational Therapy Association.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; step-children; Renne Wright, of Warrensburg, Mo., Anna Koons, of Centerview, Mo., Micah Koons, of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; several step-grandchildren; her mother, Shirley Nesbett, of Lonsdale, Minn.; one sister Anita Harnack, of Northfield, Minn.; her brothers, Harold Nesbett, of Boise, Idaho, Gerald Nesbett, of Savage, Minn., and Milton Nesbett, of St. Louis Park, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her father, George Nesbett; and her first husband, Barney Jeans.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at Ferry Funeral Home with Lawrence Cripps officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service.
