Judy Maxine Vaughn

Judy Maxine Vaughn, 71, Nevada, passed away on Jan. 1, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. Judy was born Oct. 5, 1946, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Max and Patricia Coleen (Richardson) Shipman. On Oct. 28, 1966, she was united in marriage to John Vaughn in Miami, Okla., and he survives of the home.

Judy was raised in St. Joseph. She graduated from Basehor Kansas High School Class of 1964. Following high school, she attended college and became a nursing assistant. In 2006 she and John came to Nevada and have continued to reside here since that time. Judy was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by two sons, Richard Vaughn and his wife Jenny, Schell City, and Timothy Vaughn and his wife Tina, Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Gary Shipman, Schell City; and one sister, Pamela Carpenter, Statesville, N.C.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. A private committal will follow. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
