Bill Peak
Bill Peak, 91, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Friday, Jan. 5, at Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 25, 1926, in Winnsboro, S.C., to William and Sarah (Wilson) Peak.
In 1943, Bill entered the United States Navy where he served until 1946. During his years in the service he earned many ribbons including the American Area Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, Point System and Victory Medal.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Bass, Chester, S.C.; grandchildren, Ann Stephenson, Clover, S.C., and Joey Bass, Greenville, S.C.; and sister-in-law, Lucille Haynes, Kansas City, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife Neva; his parents; one brother, David J. Peak; three nephews and one niece.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, at National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Arrangements are being handled by Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
