Margie Lucille Carpenter
Margie Lucille Carpenter, 68, of Milo, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 22, 1949, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Gene and Ruby (Wright) Williams. She married Bradley Eugene Carpenter on Aug. 11, 1972, in Milo and he survives of the home.
Margie was a life-long resident of Vernon County and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1969. She loved fishing and taking rides in the country with Brad. She liked hunting mushrooms, watching wildlife and taking care of her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband Brad; five brothers, Douglas Williams and his wife Jan, Moselle, Miss., Danny Williams and his wife Blanche, Nevada, Ed Williams, Nevada, Kevin Williams, Milo, Ron Williams, Sheldon; and sister, Donna Conway and her husband Charlie, El Dorado Springs; her mother Ruby Craft, Milo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Williams; step-father, Nelson Craft; sister, Ruby Elaine Mitts; brother, Michael Williams; nephew, Anthony Barnes; and great-great-nephew, Teagen Baldwin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at Milo Baptist Church, Milo, with Bro. Jim Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Milo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
