Hume freshman pitcher Harris shuts out NEVC
HUME, Mo. — Hume Lady Hornets freshman pitcher Kennidi Harris dazzled in the circle in her prep debut Wednesday evening. In shutting down the Northeast Vernon County Lady Knights, Harris yielded just one hit over four innings of work, while recording 11 of her 12 outs via strikeout — lifting the Lady Hornets to a 15-0, five-inning run-ruled victory.
Hume head coach Tammy Metcalf said she was impressed with her squad’s season-opening performance against their Golden Valley Vernon County Conference rival.
“We have a very well-rounded and versatile team,” said Metcalf. “(We) are great on defense and offense. We have several returning players and four new freshmen. I think that Kennidi did a great job pitching in her first high school game. And also, the entire team played well together, as we had several stolen bases.”
The loss drops NEVC to 1-1 overall (1-1 GVVC). Editor’s Note: As of press time Friday night, requested NEVC stats and comments had not been provided to the Daily Mail for publication
