Middle School Tigers open track-and-field season on high-note

BUTLER — The Nevada Middle School tack-and-field team dazzled at the season-opening (12-school) Butler All-Relays meet, Monday evening.

The NMS girls edged Lamar 64-63 for the top spot, while Archie finished in third (59), and Harrisonville, fourth (36).

The Tiger middle school tracksters also claimed first-place in the Co-ed division, finishing with 87 points. Harrisonville slotted into runner-up (70), while Butler placed third (60) and El Do, fourth (53).

Nevada also collected a first-place finish in the seventh-grade boys division, concluding with 46 points. Adrian placed second (33), while Lamar netted third (20) and El Do, fourth (18).

In the boys division, Nevada placed fourth with 52 points. Lamar collected first (85), while El Do (59) and Harrisonville (55) rounded out the top three.

• Boy’s 4-by-200 meter relay: Highley, Julian, Devin Austin, and Bradford —1:49.61.

• Girl’s long jump: Hart, Jade Feller, and Bailey Ast.

• Co-ed high jump: Abbey Heathman, Drew Beachler, Emma Leisure, and Bradford.

• Co-ed sprint medley relay: Kirstin Buck, Gage Miller, Maddy Majors, and Trent Otter — 2:02.19

• Co-ed shot put: Kiera Stafford, Logan Smith, Taylor Thompson, and Skylur Mashek.

• Co-ed discus: Stafford, Braylin Brooks, Brealynn Bowman, and Ethan Gravely.

• Coed 4-by-200 meter relay: Majors, John Peery, Buck, and Gage Barmann — 1:58.06.

• Seventh-grade boy’s distance medley relay: Jaden Theis, Kaden Padgett, Miller, and Tayvin Moore.

• Seventh-grade boy’s long jump — Beachler, Otter, and Miller.
