Nevada Middle School tracksters shine at home invitational

Impressing in front of their home faithful Thursday afternoon at Larry Testman Track — the Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth-grade track-and-field teams displayed their skills en route to a number of top finishes at the eight-school NMS Invitational.

The Nevada seventh and eighth-grade girls both claimed first-place finishes, while the NMS seventh-grade boys placed fifth, and the NMS eighth-grade boys — sixth.

Nevada Middle School eighth-grade standout Lilly Hart captures a gold medal in the pole vault. It was a record-breaking day for Hart, who broke her own school record in the long jump, leaping 15-feet, seven inches and into the Nevada Middle School record book .
