Leonard Peter Zoglmann
Leonard Peter Zoglmann, 66, Nevada, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 17, at his daughter’s home in Nevada following a brief illness. Len was born July 14, 1951, in Wellington, Kan., to Irwin F. “Butch” and Wanda L. (Wright) Zoglmann. On July 6, 1974, he married Kathy Rae Peterson in Nevada and she preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 2009.
Len came with his family in 1959 to Milo and graduated from Nevada High School in 1969. Following high school, Len attended Linn Technical College in Linn, Mo., and received a degree in auto mechanics and auto body repair. Len worked as a mechanic most of his life. He owned and operated Len’s Truck and Auto in Milo and later in Nevada for over 40 years. Len was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Nevada Eagles Lodge and B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Nevada. Len was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in as many golf tournaments as possible.
In addition to his wife, Kathy, Len was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy Zoglmann. He is survived by a daughter, Brooke Gotschall and husband Brantlee, of Nevada; two grandsons, Tanner and Brice Gotschall, Nevada; two sisters, Jeanne Baldwin (Ted), Nevada, and Geri McInroy (Rick), Nevada; two brothers, Steve Zoglmann (Debi), Nevada, and John Zoglmann (Janet), Milo; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many treasured friends.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to a fund for his grandchildren and may be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
