Sandra Lee Cooke

Sandra Lee Cooke, 76 of Nevada, was called to be with the Lord on May 22. She was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on June 14, 1941, to Bernice and Marion Hall. On Jan. 2, 1959, she married the love of her life, Thomas Cooke and together they had three children, Tom Jr., Carrie and Kim. Their family has grown to include 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Sandy was loved unconditionally by her family and friends. Her fun-loving, caring personality will never be forgotten. Her ability to care for others was exceptional — always putting others first. She was full of life, always being silly and making her family and friends laugh.

She will be missed by her husband and family but we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now with the Lord for eternity and that we, too, will join her one day for a great family reunion.

In addition to her husband, Tom, survivors include three children, Tom Cooke Jr. and his wife Julie, Hume, Carrie Hewitt, Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Kim Cooke, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Hall and his wife, Sally, St. Louis; one sister, Sharon McGire, St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Judy Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Jamie Alexander officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
