Tiger middle school football earns pair of victories

Nevada Middle School’s seventh and eighth-grade football teams notched road victories Thursday night against East Newton’s middle school squads.

Nevada’s eighth-grade gridders powered to a convincing 44-28 victory, while improving to 2-1 on the season.

Nevada’s seventh-grade gridders (1-2), meanwhile, notched their first victory of the 2018 campaign, doubling up the hosts, 16-8 in a two quarter contest.

“They were both great team wins ,” said an elated Nevada Middle School head coach, Toby Thorp.

Next up for the Tiger middle schoolers, is an Oct. 4 matchup with Cassville R-4.
