Nevada volleyball splits four at Carl Junction Classic
The Nevada Lady Tiger volleyball team went 2-2 at Saturday’s Carl Junction Classic.
Nevada (15-6) opened with a convincing 25-14, 25-6 two-set pool play victory over McDonald County. In their second pool play match, Nevada was edged by Webb City in three sets — 25-22, 18-25, 13-15.
Nevada then wrapped pool play with a 25-14, 25-18 two-set thumping of Eminence. A second-place pool-play finish propelled the Lady Tigers into the “Gold Bracket”, where they concluded the day with a 13-25, 16-25 two-set loss to eventual tournament champion Logan-Rogersville High School, the No. 3 ranked team in Missouri Class 3.
For the tourney, Nevada middle hitter Sydney Ernsbarger recorded 26 kills and 13 blocks. In addition for Nevada, defensive specialist Lani Coonrod chipped in 31 digs and six aces, while setter Hailey Jackson tallied 55 assists.
