Lady Tigers fall in Big 8 championship match
The Nevada Lady Tiger volleyball team absorbed a two-set road loss to No. 1 ranked Logan-Rogersville in Thursday’s Big 8 Conference volleyball championship match.
The marquee match-up pitted the top two teams from the Big 8 East and West divisions, with both Nevada (west) and Logan-Rogersville entering with 6-0 conference marks.
Logan-Rogersville (32-2), the top ranked team in Missouri Class 3 volleyball, dominated the match — taking the first set 25-9, and then securing the conference crown with a decisive 25-11 second-set victory.
Nevada stat leaders for the match, included Adrian Bond with 10 digs and four kills, Sydney Ernsbarger with three kills and three blocks; Lani Coonrod, 13 digs; and Hailey Jackson, nine assists and seven digs.
Nevada concludes it’s regular-season 25-7 overall (6-1 Big 8).
Nevada’s junior varsity and freshman spikers also tangled with Logan-Rogersville. Nevada JV (14-12) concluded its season with a two-set 11-25, 11-25 loss. The Nevada freshman (15-8-3) were also upended in their final match of the season — 10-25, 13-25.

The second-seeded Lady Tigers receive a first-round bye, and await the winner of (the Oct. 25) No. 3 Oak Grove vs. No. 6 Clinton match-up.
Pleasant Hill (23-10-1) received the top-seed and a first-round bye, and squares off with the winner of No. 4 Odessa vs No. 5 Harrisonville.
Both semifinals matches are slated for Oct. 26, with Nevada taking the court at 6:30 p.m. The district championship match (8 p.m.), meanwhile, is also set for the same day as the semis.
